Graphic elements in DITA

Graphic elements (photograps, illustrations and screen captures) are just as crucial in DITA publications as in any other kind of user manual.

Graphic elements (photograps, illustrations and screen captures) play a vital role in DITA publishing. User manuals and other technical documentation are good examples of the Norwegian principle of the extended text term. This is because user manuals usually contain multimodal elements in the form of, among other things, photographs, illustrations, tables and symbols. Dynamic elements such as video, animation and sound can also be integrated when publishing to digital formats.
